Family Counselling Services

Family counselling is available through our Network agencies to help you navigate and learn new skills to build healthier relationships in your existing family, or as you create new ones.

Family Counselling Ontario

What can we help with?

If you think talking with a counsellor could help, that’s reason enough. These are some of the reasons families come to us:

Children

Children of all ages are welcome to attend a family counselling session, however some Network agencies prefer parent(s)/guardian(s) attend the first counselling session without their children. This is to determine the best course of action for all involved based on several factors, including age of children and custody arrangements. Please see your local agency for details.

If you are separated or divorced, please bring legal documentation outlining custody agreements to the first session.

Client Rights & Responsibilities

At The Hope Counselling Network, we foster a culture of mutual respect and inclusivity where everyone feels safe and valued. We do not tolerate discriminatory or aggressive behaviours and expect all clients, staff, volunteers, and partners to contribute to this positive environment. In accessing counselling services, clients understand that a failure to uphold this culture of respect may result in termination of service.

What to expect?

Our counsellors are trained to welcome your family to your local agency, put you at ease, and lead you through your session. They listen without judgment and work collaboratively with you all to achieve your goals.
